Err, squats are a good excerise for your butt, assuming you're doing them correctly. If you aren't using your butt muscles while doing them, obviously it won't have any effect.

Maybe it's because my legs are proportionally really short compared to most people but squats never seem to work the butt. I did discover one exercise that does work the butt. It's like a squat except that after you go down you try to raise just your butt up as high as you can while keeping your shoulders where they were at the bottom of your squat….. it's like really weird twerking. The problem is even though this is like the only butt exercise I've found that actually works the butt there's no way to safely add weights to the exercise so no muscle anyway……

Also OP, do you already have the right butt shape for a bubblebutt? You can add muscle, unless you're me apparently, but you won't get a bubblebutt if your butt is box shaped.

Yeah you gotta remember to have good form and to squeeze your glutes as you're rising back to standing form before you go down for your next rep

I'm a slim built guy but I've been doing a squat routine for well over 5 years (bodyweight though, not gym equipment) and I have seen an incredibly big difference in my butt, it's fuller and more rounder :)

The other trick you have to keep in mind is do other lower body workouts that target the butt. For example, along with squats and different variations of them (Sumo Squats, Jumping Squats, etc), you should also do leg raises/donkey kicks to help lift the buttocks.
